The Stone Publishing Trust (SPT) is committed to protecting your privacy and keeping the personal information you provide to us confidential. This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, and, where necessary, share your personal information.

Throughout this statement, “SPT” refers to the Stone Publishing Trust a registered charity No. 1034689 (also referred to as “we”, “us”, or “our”).  SPT is the Data Controller for your information.

What information do we collect?

We collect personal information to identify you and provide you with our publications. “Personal Information” is information that identifies you as an individual or relates to an identifiable individual. We may collect personal information including but not limited to your name, age, postal address and email address. The personal information we receive may come directly from you or from someone you authorise to provide us with your details. In some cases we may receive your personal information if we have been asked to send you a trial or gift subscription.

SPT also collects non-personal information during your visit to our website through the use of cookies. Cookies are small text files that are placed onto the device you are using to access our website. Cookies are used to collect information about your usage on our website. You can control your acceptance of cookies by modifying your preference on your internet browser. Some features of our website may not be accessible if you disable all cookies.

How do we use your information?

We may use or share the information that you or a third party provide for our charitable purposes including the following:

  • To provide the publications or support that are requested;
  • To establish and maintain communications with you;
  • To tell you about other publications or activities of the trust;
  • To record and score your responses to the Bible Class questions;
  • To record your submissions for the colouring texts;
  • To notify you of changes to our publications or online services;
  • To improve or modify our website and identify usage trends.
  • To administer any donation, including processing Gift Aid;
  • To keep a record of your correspondence and donations history;
  • If you make a substantial gift to our work, we may contact you to thank you and to discuss if you have any preferences for how we use the resources you have provided.

We do not sell or share your personal details to third parties for the purposes of their marketing.

We will retain your personal information for the period necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this notice.

Disclosure

We may also share your information for legal or regulatory purposes.  In some cases, as part of our normal delivery arrangements we will share information you have provided with others so that the items you have requested can be delivered to you.
The third parties to whom we may disclose your information are obligated to comply with laws and regulations to keep your information confidential and secure. If they would like to use your information for any other purpose, they must notify you and obtain your consent.

Children

We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose information of children under the age of thirteen (13) without the consent of their parents or legal guardians.  In some cases we are provided with names of children and their ages together with their Bibleclass scores from Pastors and Sunday School teachers outside of the EU.  This information is used solely to generate and award certificates of achievement.  Names and ages of children are occasionally published in our magazines as a record of their achievements.  We will not do this unless we have first obtained the consent of the individual or their parent/guardian.

Access and Accuracy

Changes to our Privacy Notice

We may change our Privacy Notice from time to time. We will notify you of any amendments or modifications to our Privacy Notice by posting the revised notice on our Website. Your continued use of our Website or Services following the posting of the revised Privacy Notice will constitute acceptance of our terms.
